Travel Buenos Aires Weblog / What to see in Almagro, Buenos AiresAlmagro is said to be a middle class neighbourhood in Buenos Aires that has inspired many tango singers. There is a tango named “Almagro” which was written by Carlos Gardel, the most important exponent of this music. There are also numerous shops in some of the avenues in Almagro but because of its proximity to the Abasto Market, many locals usually go shopping in that market.
There are various interesting sites to visit and things to see in Almagro. Las Violetas coffee house, El Baderin Bar, Casa de Gardel, Mercado Boedo, Pio IX school, Casa del Tango, Club Almagro, Plaza Miserere and Plaza Almagro park are among the most visited sites in this neighbourhood. It is said that there are also convenient shortstay apartments in Buenos Aires but I haven’t looked for one yet since it is usually said that you can get complete tour packages in Buenos Aires that include accommodation and other services at convenient rates.
